Who we are

Your Teens

Teens Read the Book is run by a volunteer committee of teens from around the world who love scripture. If you are a teen who wants to help us with this project, contact us. We would love to work with you!

Meet The Committee

Sydney

Heyo, I'm Sydney, head of the committee at Teens Read The Book. When I'm not listening to recordings, scheduling meetings, or emailing readers, you can find me finishing up my latest crochet project or reading a good book. As a lover of literature, the word of God speaks to my soul. I find the scriptures fascinating and full of truth. As I have worked on this project, I have found personal peace and a greater love for the gospel. In a constantly changing world of noise and chaos, I love that the word of God stays the same. I hope that in sharing the Lord's word with others, they might feel the comfort and joy of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Eliza

Hi! I'm Eliza, one of the project managers for Teens Read the Book. I'm a teen living in California who loves volleyball, music, and writing. I've also loved being part of this incredible effort to bring the scriptures to life through teen voices. Whether through managing recordings, encouraging new readers, or listening to the scriptures myself, this project has been an incredibly faith-building experience. My hope is that Teens Read the Book will continue to help people like me grow spiritually, build confidence in their testimonies, and recognize the power of sharing their faith with others. I hope this project inspires people around the world to grow just like my testimony has.

Anna

Hi! I’m Anna, a teenage girl from Idaho. McKay, the kid who started the project, was actually one of my best friends as a baby, so when he invited me to join the committee back a few years ago, I was thrilled to accept! Reading the Word of God, particularly the Book of Mormon, has been one of the most meaningful ways God speaks to me. I decided to read it every day after I was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and ever since, it has brought me peace and strength in a way nothing else has. As an army girl, musician, soccer player, and oldest of six, “busy” is my middle name. I’ve hopped around a lot, living in California, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and finally Idaho. Through all of this moving, change, and growth, my Savior Jesus Christ has become my best friend. I know I will forever study His word and the word of His Father.

McKay

Hey everyone! My name is McKay, but I'm currently going by Elder for the next two years as I serve the people of the South Carolina, Columbia Mission! Teens Read the Book came to be in 2020, but now continues to have a greater impact than I ever imagined. Hearing teenagers read the Book of Mormon and the Bible has built my faith immensely. I'm reminded of the fact that no matter who we are, where we live, or what our background is, we can all connect on one thing: the word of God. Reading it and listening to others read it has strengthened my testimony of the scriptures in ways I didn't think possible. As you follow the promptings of the spirit, no matter how small, I know that you can make a difference in today's large, and sometimes scary world! And then, with so many of the pure in heart coming together, how could the kingdom of Heaven on Earth help but grow?
